Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American singer and actress began with humorous rap tracks which dealt with the subject of sexual and race. Her fame grew into Hollywood when she dropped an album of raps. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. After a classical and jazz education her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. At college, she was studying journalism and women's studies. Then, she even had some time learning Mandarin at the University of Beijing. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she turned her attention towards music. The song My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a huge hit via the Internet and was later featured on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. This album also featured viral hits such as the body positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The singer decided to make acting careers following the completion of her previous two ventures as a musician and author. In addition to early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed her first major role in a number of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
