Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and a singer. She is also co-starring with Prince in his 1984 film Purple Rain. She was the main female performer for Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. The singer and actress named Apollonia by Prince was one of the many female musicians in the '80s who benefited from her relationship with the Purple One. She was born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959, her professional career began as a model actress towards the end of the 1970s including an appearance on the TV show CHiPS. In 1984, she was cast as the title of female lead in Prince's Purple Rain (during which time she altered her name) as well as replacing Vanity as a member of the female group Vanity 6 performing with them in the film with the title Apollonia 6.
